When, after having faithfully observed the rules,
Sen-No-Rikyu (1522-1591) four Waka on the tea ritual
proceed further,
never forget the origin.
The method I chose for this performance is that of de-location, that is to say, the transfer of elements of a Japanese tea ritual into a different context — that of the Italian ritual of coffee. And, I attempted to record the aspects of contiguity and the differences that result, just as they present themselves — without evaluation, without comment.
The performance is dedicated to Giò di Sera, a great Neapolitan artist and good friend, who is in exile.
